The Ghana National Association of Cattle Farmers (GNACAF ) is a non-governmental organization with the core programs and services below

Capacity Building

Establishing the International Livestock Center

GNACAF aims to establish a state-of-the-art International Livestock Center to modernize the cattle farming industry in Ghana. Key components of the center will include:

• Cattle Breeding and Artificial Insemination: To improve the genetic quality of livestock for better productivity.

• Modern Livestock Market: A hygienic and efficient space for the buying and selling of livestock.

• Modern Pasture Creation: Demonstration centers for effective pasture management and grazing.

• Veterinary Services: Providing comprehensive health care for livestock.

• Capacity Building: Training in advanced farming practices for farmers.

• Academic Education for Children of Pastoralists: Special emphasis on the girl child.

• Modern Abattoir: For humane slaughter, hygienic processing, and quality packaging.

• Dairy Production and Processing: Enhancing local dairy farming and value-added processing.


Advocacy

Fostering Peaceful Relationships Between Cattle Breeders and Crop Farmers

GNACAF is committed to promoting peaceful and cooperative relationships between cattle farmers and crop farmers. This will be achieved through:

• Mediation and Conflict Resolution: Facilitating dialogue to resolve land and resource use disputes.

• Education and Workshops: Creating understanding and cooperation through community engagement.


Market Access

Advancing Farmers into Cooperative Ventures

We will support the formation of cooperative ventures to help farmers maximize their resources, enhance bargaining power, and improve market access. These cooperatives will also provide opportunities for:

• Bulk purchasing of supplies.

• Collaborative marketing of livestock products.

• Access to financing and resources for growth.


Veterinary Services

advocating on behalf of cattle ranchers in policy talks and lobbying the government for supportive laws, grants, and assistance.
